To entice fickle voters, many of the Canadian federal parties tout various tax credits in their platforms. To help voters better understand some of these new options, my colleage at the Toronto Star, Joel Eastwood, asked me to bolster his story on the new tax credits being offered with some illustrations.
The approach was to keep it simple and go for a sort of iconography based on a street sign aesthetic. Some of the credits were a bit more abstract and tough to illustrate (can you tell without reading which one is for “volunteers”?), but it was a fun challenge.
UPDATE: in keeping with the Star’s many site redesigns and CMS upgrades it would appear that the tax credits infographic is no longer working. The GIF above will have to do!
